Nasa Vehicle Assembly Building, Kennedy Space Center, FL
Re-roof project of a 250,000 Sq. Ft. roof area. Removal of 3 existing roof systems down to structural concrete deck. Installed torch applied preliminary roof followed by tapered lightweight insulating concrete. The roofing system consisted of a 3-ply Soprema modified bitumen and included the fabrication and installation of related sheet metal components. This building serves as NASA’s “Vehicle Assembly Building” and is where work done on space shuttles. The roofing work was performed while facility was in operation and during the course of 2004’s busy hurricane season. Roofing system has a 20 year “No Dollar Limit” manufacturer’s warranty
