National's (Roofing Company) performance during the execution of this delivery order was absolutely stellar. This facility is a military biomedical research facility conducting critical research in the areas of chemical and biological warfare defense. Due to the critical nature of the facilities missions there was ZERO tolerance for any activity that could impact the performance of the mission. National met and exceeded this requirement by closely working with the building staff which resulted in NO disruptions due to the construction efforts.

Additionally, due to the extreme complexity of the roof mounted ventilation system, National had to deal with over seven hundred roof penetrations of various sizes and shapes during the course of this project. In response to this demand, National demonstrated a product to the satisfaction of the government that would provide a more suitable and adequate sealing method than attempting to flash these penetrations using the torch applied base flashing originally called for in the Scope of Work. This resulted in a substantial time savings and the elimination of potential sources of water infiltration due to the large number of penetrations present.

National Roofing’s professionalism and commitment to completing this complex and vital project was evidenced by the level of staffing committed to the project and the personal interests taken by both Mr. Mike Barnaba and Mr. Bob Peters, who are senior executives with the company.

National Roofing Company has earned my utmost respect as a company that can be depended upon to not only perform roofing work safely and in a timely and cost effective manner, but can be counted upon to provide professional technical expertise and answers to complex roofing issues. This is a major reason why I have absolutely no problem at all providing them my highest recommendation for this solicitation award.

Mark, as per our conversation this morning I am sending this email to be used as you see fit. Again, as stated this morning, it is not very often I am impressed with repair work or installation of materials for a roofing project. On Monday morning of this week and after reviewing the punch list repairs on F-1, 2,11 and 12 I want to say that the roof crew from NRC has done the best work I have seen in the last 5 years. And that says a lot. As you know, my work with CCI is as a roofing expert on large EPDM and Slate roofing systems installation and the quality work that Leo and his team are providing are excellent. Please tell Bob from NRC that I really do appreciate the effect and detailing of the work that his team is providing to the roofs. And the cooperation that Leo and his team also giving to me as a QCM. With the continuing support from NRC I believe we will finish in the near future and all will walk away with a good feeling of a job well done.
